Why and how?
Cecília Tarkovács Early Childhood Specialist, Parenting Coach

What’s it about?
Do they bite, pinch, scratch, hit, kick or even swear? Are we as parents doing something wrong, are they picking it up from someone else, or is it perfectly normal for this behaviour to occur?
I aim to provide answers to these questions in this online course.
Physical or verbal aggression in young children may be a way of releasing tension, but it may also be linked to needs associated with their current stage of development. And whilst you cannot simply let things slide, it certainly helps to know what the underlying causes might be in order to manage the situation effectively, choose the right approach to communication and establish effective consequences.
If you’d like to find out:
- Is this a stage of development? When can behaviour that appears aggressive be linked to development, and when can it be linked to tension (joyful excitement, fear, anger)?
- How should it be managed? In what circumstances, how should the situation be handled; is it permissible to impose a penalty or apply sanctions, and if so, how?
- How should you communicate? How should you communicate if your child is aggressive towards others or towards you? How should you communicate if your child is the victim? How can you help them to relieve tension, and when should you seek professional help?

Parents’ views
„Informative, eye-opening, and fills a gap. I would make it compulsory for all parents of young children to attend a course like this.”
Flora
„It was very practical, well structured, and there was a great deal to learn from it. It’s much more than just a lecture, as individual situations are also discussed. As well as the theoretical part, you can also learn from the experiences of the other participants.”
Estella, Krisztián
„The example sentences were useful: 'Am I right in thinking you’re angry?' The structure, the interesting topic, the advice – he didn’t try to get the audience to speak at all costs (right from the start).”
Zoltán D. and Timcsi
„I really like the way you explain things using examples. Even a good priest never stops learning. You always have something new to say, which helps me feel at peace in my day-to-day life.”
Kata
„A well-prepared, broad-minded professional with a great speaking voice – it’s easy to connect with him. It’s well worth attending; he offers lots of good ideas and really opens your eyes.”
